Who was Yasin Kocyigit?

Yasin Kocyigit was a Turkish police officer who was killed in the line of duty during an operation targeting ISIS/Daesh in Yalova on 29 December 2025. His name is remembered with duty, courage, and sacrifice.

Kocyigit was registered in Mezgit Village (Caliönü area), Şereflikoçhisar, Ankara. His early years were shaped by family values, local culture, and a strong sense of responsibility—traits that later defined his professional life.

According to the announced program, he was laid to rest after the afternoon prayer at Mezgit Village Cemetery in Şereflikoçhisar, Ankara.
